    Please note that because of the age group we are helping most of the Volunteering is required Monday to Friday during the daytime. We do occasionally need support for the odd event we have on an Evening or weekend but we will let you know if and when we need any additional help.

    Please supply the names of two people we can approach for references. At least one should be your current or most recent employer, or your course tutor/minister of religion, and they should have known you for a minimum of 1 year. Relatives should not act as referees.

  • DISCLOSURE OF CRIMINAL RECORD INFORMATION

    The role(s) you have applied for is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as a result of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemption) Order 1975.
    You are, therefore not entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are 'spent' under the provisions of the Act.
    Any information given will be completely confidential and will be considered only in relation to an application for role(s) to which the order applied.
    Please give details of all criminal information including details and dates of 'spent' convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings as well as other relevant non-conviction information, such as police enquiries and pending prosecutions.
    Relevant criminal convictions and other associated information will be discussed at the interview in order to assess volunteer related risks. You are encouraged to submit appropriate written details and dates and to attach any other information you wish to draw our attention to that may improve our understanding and fair decision making.
    Please submit this information, in confidence to Denise Murray, Project Co-ordinator, who is responsible for ensuring the security of this highly sensitive information.
    If, after your interview, we tell you that we are proceeding with your application, any subsequent offer of a role will be subject to satisfactory checks such as references, and the result of a Disclosure and Barring Service Check from the Criminal Records Bureau.
    You will be given the opportunity to discuss Disclosure information before a final decision is made as part of a post-interview process.
